Are the TAXES in the United States excessive ?
Taxes are excessive in some places here, but the only thing to curb taxation is to reduce spending and most people aren't willing to give up what they're getting. We are guaranteed the right to pursue happiness, not happiness nor that we don't have to work for it. As a Christian nation, we have abdicated to government the choice of whom we will take care of. So, yes, taxes are excessive, but the only way to curb it will be an amendment which sets a flat percentage for all to pay AND limiting the ability of Congress to spend ONLY what is taken in. As an aside, Illinois is going to raise its cigarette tax to pay for capital improvements which smokers won't be able to enjoy unless they don't smoke. Controlled by Democrats top to bottom.
